Character Traits Lesson for Language Arts using Photoshop

In this lesson, you will find a large photo to represent one of the main characters from your silent reading book. Then you'll choose a smaller picture to represent a character trait of that main character. You'll blend them together. Finally, you will explain how that character trait influenced the plot of your silent reading book.

Example:

The photo of the boy below I have decided will represent Billy from Where the Red Fern Grows.

This smaller picture represents the hard working charcter of Billy since Abraham Lincoln was famous for working hard.

Here's what the final picture will look like after being combined and blended.

Now just follow the directions in the following video tutorials:

  1. Saving photos from the Internet.
  2. Google images link.
  3. Opening the two photos and blending them together.
  4. Adding text. Also, you may create another text layer to add your first name. You can write By Jack in the lower right corner of your artwork if your first name is Jack.
  5. Saving your file.

You will probably need to refer to some of the tutorial videos on the main Photoshop training page to help you see how to save pictures and open them in Photoshop.
